About Us
In 2015 a mom was in a planning meeting helping with an event at her son’s school. As the final details were planned someone mentioned that waters should be made available. The mom said she could get them as she was “going to the store anyway”. Due to her exposure to, and service on, numerous nonprofit organizations around town, she always had the thought that there needs to be a better way for organizations that accept donations of goods and basic necessities to know what was being donated in a timely, efficient manner. She knew everyday citizens stepped up when the call to help was put out. She thought “how can we better coordinate the giver and the receiver?”.
In 2022, after the passing of her father, who was a generous monetary donor to numerous organizations, she, along with her 2 brothers, sold their childhood home. Their parents lived in the home together for 54 years until the passing of their mom in 2020 who was a career “nurse’s nurse”, and displayed care and compassion for everyone she encountered. With the proceeds from the sale, she thought the best way to keep her family’s legacy alive was to create an app and website that would make donating goods, time, and money easier. She created Shopping Anyway as a leap of faith and with support and guidance from her family and her family angels. Her LLC is “Grace and Care”, and this represents God’s Grace and her Parent’s Care. It’s her little way of helping nonprofits help those they serve, and because of her belief that Giving Should Be Easy.
